the weird, the queer, and the gay

Conceived by years of frustration, birthed and inspired by my friend's blog...hope this blog could be an avenue for 'intelligent' discussions about everyday topics and occasional oddities of the human psyche which I know everyone is curious about...everyone is welcome to join...whether you're normal, weird, queer or gay...

When your pet peeves on you...

I was watching the "Street Smarts" game show, when the question was; 'What is a pet peeve?' The 'street' person answered, 'Sounds like when your pet peeves on you...' and I bursed laughing. Pet peeves are things people do and say, inconsiderate and stupid habits, meaningless phrases, oxymorons and other nonsensical actions that annoy a certain person, that certain person meaning you.

We constantly encounter a multitude of personalities in our everyday activities and we sometimes encounter our pet peeves. So what are your pet peeves? Last Friday I had a sort of a reunion with 2 of my previous officemates, when we were about to leave, we were spotted by another ex-officemate. This officemate was notorious when it comes to dishing out foul language. I mean the public restrooms would be humbled by her foul mouth. She decided to chat with me and catch up on old times, me being the (occasional) decent person that I am, stayed and chatted with her. But not long on our conversation, here I was cursing myself for having to stand with her in public. She was so oblivious of her rantings that she did not notice that people were staring at us. I wanted to bolt and leave if not for my good sense that we were at some point friends, but at that time I'd rather be an ashtray, a wall or a plant than be seen (and heard) with her. She was spouting out 4 SOB's per sentence and that's not counting the other 'bad words' that she uses in between. Luckily (whew), we were chatting long enough that she noticed what time it is and decided to go back to her office. But before she go, she got my number and told me that we should get together again sometime (ya, as if I would let that happen).

I have nothing against cursing, for aren't the so called 'bad words' just relative terms. But if you choose to use it on sentence make sure it is of 'good taste' and in the right company for you'll never know who's listening. So how about you? What are your pet peeves?
